Library Media Specialist Evaluation FAQ
What is the SLEI? Where do I find forms, guidelines, etc.?
The SLEI, or School Librarian Evaluation Instrument, is the evaluation tool for Cobb library media specialists. It is new for 2017-2018, consists of 10 standards, a Level I-IV evaluation scale, and is modeled after TKES/LKES. Please note that school library media specialists are not evaluated under TKES or LKES, but use the SLEI. You will find all the support documents needed to evaluate a library media specialist on the Cobb HR Evaluation website or on the Cobb LME website.
Where do I house all the documents associated with SLEI?
The TLE Platform (Teacher Leader Effectiveness Platform) is the platform that is used to house TKES and LKES. This year, the GA DOE added a new group to the TLE Platform called Contributing Professionals. This Contributing Professionals platform is generic in nature, rather than specific like TKES and LKES. All contributing professionals (counselors, library media specialists, etc.) can use this platform to establish goals for the year. The Contributing Professionals Platform is also where you can upload the SLEI documents referenced above.
Are there signing deadlines in the Contributing Professionals platform?
No, not like with TKES/LKES. Please see the SLEI timeline for more information.
