MakerSpace Expert Badge: Linking STEM and Standards in the Learning Commons Using the Engineering Design Steps and new technology tools, students at Addison Elementary can tinker with new types of projects. The tools, part of the Addison Learning Common's MakerSpace collection, are used in PBL lessons when classes come to the Learning Commons...and students have a chance to explore the tools on their own at a variety of different Learning Commons Stations. They can earn a special Badge for their work. |

Literacy Projects: Podcasts and Reading Culture Podcasting is a great way to help students find their voice and share what they know. Ingrid will walk you through the steps (and pitfalls) of creating a recording space and instructing students on writing scripts, production elements, recording, and storing podcasts. Griffin MS has created a school-wide reading culture this school year through a collaborative effort between the library media specialist, principal, teachers, and students. Learn about our framework, results, and gather ideas for supporting reading culture in your school. |

Topics can include, but are not limited to: instructional collaboration, reading culture, SLEI standards, collection development, literacies, Cobb Digital Library, advocacy, curriculum standards, Destiny, programming, tech tools, Makerspaces, and more.

This session will be a sneak peek into the CTLS Resource Library, the newest feature in CTLS Teach. Learn how you and your colleagues will be able to explore, curate, organize, and share content resource collections.
1:45 - 3:30 Vertical Teams
This session will provide an opportunity for library media specialists to meet in vertical teams. Conversation will be anchored in SLEI Standard 3: Informational and Technology Literacy, SLEI Standard 5: Effective Practices for Research, and SLEI Standard 2: Role of Reading.
